The edifice wears no cladding

Will Alsop, the acclaimed British architect, stormed the gates of Toronto more than two years ago and convinced the Ontario College of Art and Design that he was their man -- a painter turned architect whose hovering buildings require a suspension of belief. Wanting hard-core creative for a $38-million expansion, OCAD hired Alsop and waited breathlessly for the fireworks.
