TORONTO -- It reached the point in Toronto yesterday where companies were discouraging large staff meetings and travel to offices across town, traders took records home at night in case they couldn't come back in the morning, jokes about "SARbbaticals" made the rounds and any single possible symptom -- a bad headache, severe tiredness, fever, dry cough, unaccustomed shortness of breath -- was official grounds for being off work.
