Researcher feels anti-war views cost him U.S. funding
An agency of the U.S. military cancelled its funding for a software development project after its Calgary-based leader said he was sickened by the war in Iraq.Earlier this month, The Globe and Mail reported that a project headed by Calgary hacker Theo de Raadt was the recipient of more than $2-million (U.S.) in funding from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the R&D arm of the U.S. military. But Mr. de Raadt said his funding has been withdrawn and no one has told him why.
