CBC AS HOME OF THE BLOCKBUSTER?

A decision is expected within days on a request from the CBC Television that it be permitted to show "block- buster," non-Canadian movies during prime-time. CBC-TV made the application this spring to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission in Ottawa, and, unsurprisingly, it has garnered negative reaction from private-sector broadcasters like CTV, Global and CHUM.
