Marvel stock no longer comical

Superheroes -- of the comic-book variety at least -- tend to be born during times of crisis: Superman sprang onto the page in 1938, as war loomed in Europe, Captain America arrived shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor, and Spider-Man soothed a public caught up in fears about nuclear attack.
