Baffled Beijing voters cast their ballots

BEIJING -- Zhao Hui got his first taste of Chinese-style democracy yesterday, and it was a quick and cynical lesson.The Beijing computer student had turned 18, making him eligible to vote in local elections for the first time. His teacher ordered him to go a polling station to choose among the government-approved candidates. It took him less than five seconds to fill out his ballot.
