New dean of architecture and design named at U of T
Toronto -- The University of Toronto has named award-winning architect and educator George Baird its new dean of Architecture, Landscape and Design. The four-year appointment begins July 1.Now the G. Ware Travelstead Professor of Architecture at Harvard's Graduate School of Design, Baird is a partner in Toronto-based Baird Sampson Neuert Architects Inc. He received his bachelor of architecture from U of T and did postgraduate research at University College, London. He received an AM from Harvard before joining the U of T faculty. He has taught at other major institutions in Canada, Europe and the United States and has lectured extensively. Staff
