Weighing in when junior tips the scales
When Linda Casey studied pediatrics in the late 1980s, Type II diabetes was known as the adult form of the disease and was all but unheard-of among children. Today, Type II diabetes has moved into childhood with a vengeance, becoming not only a well-recognized pediatric phenomenon, but also in some places the most commonly diagnosed form of diabetes.
