New leader uses conservative clique for aid, direction

TORONTO -- The creation of Canada's Conservative Party has been billed as a merger of two equal partners.But when new leader Stephen Harper looks outside himself for advice and organizational help, it will be to a group of mostly hard-c conservatives, some of whom have travelled the road from the early days of Preston Manning's Reform Party.
