Concussions found to cause depression
A whack on the head that results in a sport concussion does emotional as well as physical damage, according to research done at the University of Toronto.The depression and negative feelings associated with a concussion are not just a byproduct of a player missing the game because he's sidelined, but a symptom brought about by the actual hit, says Lynda Mainwaring, a registered psychologist and associate professor in the school's physical education and health faculty.
