Cost to mail a letter rising to 50 cents
Ottawa -- The price to send a letter in Canada will rise to 50 cents in January, the post office says. The new rate is effective Jan. 17 and is up from the current 49 cents set in January of this year. The 2.04-per-cent increase is derived from a formula using Statistics Canada's consumer price index.
