Calm campaign lauded as Cambodia set to vote
PHNOM PENH -- For the past few weeks, it has been nearly impossible to get away from Cambodia's No. 1 pop hit, Wear the Shirt, Never Take it Off.But it's not radio or television where the song gets the most play. With the country readying for tomorrow's general election, the song has been latched on to by most of the 21 parties competing for seats. Across the country, speaker-laden trucks blare the young male singer's voice screeching "Why don't you take it off?" -- an ode to a woman who wears the same shirt every day.
