Could 'e-health' cure the waiting blues?
At my family doctor's office a few months ago, a woman came in and told the receptionist the time of her scheduled appointment. She was 15 minutes early. But her doctor was backed up. The receptionist politely explained that the doctor would see her in about an hour. Equally politely, the would-be patient explained that she worked around the block. If the receptionist could phone her office a few minutes before the doctor was ready for her, she'd come right over.
