Diamonds are created from dead family member

Innisfail, Alta. -- A central Alberta family has become the first in Canada to order diamonds created from the remains of a loved one. A Chicago-based company called LifeGem has developed a process for turning the carbon found in a human cadaver into synthetic diamonds. A representative from LifeGem was in the town of Innisfail last weekend, training funeral-home staff on the proper process for cremating and then retrieving carbon from the body. CP
