Blair presses Chirac to relent on Iraq veto

LONDON -- British Prime Minister Tony Blair challenged French President Jacques Chirac last night to reconsider his promised veto of a United Nations Security Council resolution threatening the use of force against Iraq, as relations between Paris and Washington sank to new lows.
