Hospitals adapting for the long term

The speed and the wallop packed by the deadly SARS virus will have a lasting impact on the way Canadian hospitals do business, health officials said yesterday.Donald Low, chief microbiologist at Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital, said there has never been a disease quite like this severe acute respiratory syndrome and no one could have predicted its breakneck infection rate.
