Final thoughtsTwo weeks ago after the leaders' debate I predicted a Conservative minority government. Did I miss the mark or what?. Me and the pollsters were out to lunch on this election. It appears the last minute Liberal attack-ads worked since most voters don't yet trust Stephen Harper to form the next government. It seems the Liberal sponsorship scandal only affected Quebec voters who took it personally. It seemed to me the Liberals deserved a good spanking but they only got a tap on the wrist. I guess one votes for the devil they know instead of the devil they don't know. In any event 2004 was an exciting and interesting election because the final result was in doubt for a few hours. I expect to vote again within 18 months but this isn't a prediction!. |
