YOU ASKED:
We've got tickets to the Gala screening for next Friday at Roy Thompson Hall and I'm kinda confused..My husband thinks there's no dress code but I really don't want to be under-dressed either.. Please help!
Connie
Review Editor Elizabeth Renzetti answered:
It's not black tie, except for the stars, really. For regular folk, the galas are in that grey area I'd call 'casual chic': Dress up, but not like you're meeting the Queen. Funky is good, because there are lots of film folks from around the world there, and they have good shoes.
YOU ASKED:
Over the years, I have enjoyed watching the press conferences (on Rogers Cable 10). Last December, I switched over to Bell Expressvu. Is there any TV coverage of the press conferences and events of the film festival via Expressvu?
Ed Shiels
Globe Television Editor Andrew Ryan answered:
Sorry to report, but the daily press conferences that air on Rogers Cable 10 are exclusive to that channel. They have a pre-arranged agreement with the Film Festival organizers for those broadcast rights. Since you are on Bell ExpressVu, I'm afraid you won't have access to that channel.
YOU ASKED:
Will Christian Bale (star of "Laurel Canyon") be at the festival this year?
Nadia
Review Editor Elizabeth Renzetti answered:
Christian Bale doesn't have a film in the festival this year, and it's unlikely he'll be there.
